Recently, we had been to Himachal and the trip was no doubt greeeaaat....wish I had the time to write about it. During our visit to Dharamshala, while strolling on the streets and shops around this hilly market, we came across a shop which had cards & wall hangings with words of wisdom and kindness from H.H. The Dalai Lama.. good insights on the ways to look at human emotions & various aspects of life...putting just one of them here.
We can certainly relate to the following thoughts , just apt to describe the kind of life we're living now..
The Paradox of our age -
"We have bigger houses but smaller families;
more conveniences, but less time.
We have more degrees but less sense;
more knowledge but less judgement;
more medicines but less healthiness.
We’ve been all the way to the moon and back,but have trouble in crossing the street to meet the new neighbours.
We have built more computers to hold more information, to produce more copies than ever,but we have less communication;
We have become long on quantity,but short on quality.
These are times of fast foods but slow digestion;
Tall man but short character;
Steep profits but shallow relationships.
It is a time when there is much in the window, but nothing in the room."
- H.H. The 14th Dalai Lama

yup.. that is what development is all about!!! things are not managed right and development is slowly reaching every place..!! but if it was managed which is a huge huge complex thing to do.. it would have been different!!
But good thing is that it does not still apply to a lot of places for instance nepal.. hahah!!
and even better thing is that you got break from work and got time to run up the hills... make you more human than staying in the city all your life.. hahaha !! take care sis!!
